Surprise, surprise…saving the best for last. How could we possibly end this blog series on anything else, eh?

So, we’ve saved you an unfettered fortune in your 2026 recruitment marketing spend by convincing you that EGV is the new way forward to attract talent and all sorts of eyeballs…no professionals or hiring agencies needed.

But now you are rightfully entitled to think why you still need to “outsource” to Inside Edge for training and support, why can’t your team simply use AI tools to generate videos in-house?

Sure, go for it!  There’s nothing stopping you. But remember, that’s not employee-generated video…that’s AI-generated video.

The AI promise: “Magically make a video in seconds that looks amazing and costs you nothing.”

It’s insane to think it was only yesterday where we lived in a world that only allowed two choices of the three biblical qualities: Fast, good, or cheap.

Now you can have all three by the simple click of a ‘Book a Free Demo’ CTA magic button.

Their marketing is brilliant: Prompt it with a brief, choose an avatar, paste a script, click generate.

Walah! Done.

In theory, it all sounds pretty magical. But what they don’t tell you are their definitions of these 3 qualities. When they say these words, what do they mean?

Let’s look at the word “Fast”

AI is all about speed, speed, speed. Really? Do the below steps sound “speedy” to you?

  • Time to explore and assess the platform
  • Time to book a free demo
  • Time to choose a package
  • Time to get acquainted
  • Time to learn and master the interface
  • Time to fix the annoying details and get it right
  • Time to message customer support when you get fed up

Sure, the tool might generate a video in 30 seconds, but it takes you 30 days just to get the thing where you (the busy human user) need it to be.

Next up, let’s look at the word “Good”

The thing about the word “fast,” is that at least it has an objective meaning. Light is faster than sound, as an example. There’s no debate.

But when it comes to the word “good,” it’s a completely different story. Fair enough, it took you 30 days to finally achieve that 30 second AI video that is ready to go-live. But now you have to ask, is it actually any good?

  • Is it actually authentic and real?
  • Does it actually have an emotional connection?
  • Are the visuals used actually original and diverse, not generic and repetitive?
  • Is it actually tasteful?
  • Does it actually get the message across?
  • Is it actually created and “generated” by an employee?
  • Honestly, is it actually entertaining and won’t put the audience to sleep?

AI is kind of like a shiny new board game being promoted at the toy store — it stands out on the shelf, it looks like so much fun, all that’s left is bringing it out at your upcoming dinner party and seeing if it’s actually any good.

Finally, let’s look at the word “Cheap”

Sure, most AI tool Get Started packages look pretty attractive at $25-$30/month, but typically that is just the price for one ticket.

No different to RyanAir’s business model, you quickly forget about all those hidden charges. These can include things like:

  • User licences adding up
  • Extra avatars costing more
  • Higher-quality voices costing more
  • Unlimited exports costing more
  • Collaboration tools costing more
  • Brand-kit features costing more
  • Better templates costing more

Almost every new feature you need sits behind the word Upgrade.

Many organisations are already starting to report that they are spending more money on AI than they originally did when they booked freelancers. And the professional freelancer will probably do it faster and much better too.

So, now you’ve just lost 3 times.

Look, full disclaimer: We actively encourage all our clients to use AI for things like video asset management challenges and post-production assistance etc, but that’s about it. AI is wonderful for these pesky little tasks when creating their own EGV content. But remember, it’s still being created by the human employee.

Where EGV Wins: Real People. Real Impact. Real Time

The key-phrase there? Real time!

Every single day at work, moments happen. Moments in meetings, moments when making coffee, moments of magic when someone says or does something. These moments are what the world never sees…because nobody is capturing it.

The pros can’t capture it. The agencies can’t capture it. And AI most certainly cannot capture it.

EGV is the only choice to attract eyeballs in 2026 and beyond. All it takes is a smartphone, a little confidence, and a wild imagination.

Inside Edge will show you how.
