Your Mobile-First Video Edge

Traditional video agencies sell you their Hollywood ideas. Modern tech companies sell you their content creation software solutions.

The former is more expensive than ever these days, and the latter wants you to sign up to their monthly online subscription model.

We are neither of these. We have no pitch, no product, no platform, and no packages to sell you. What we offer is an edge.

A human edge. A competitive edge. Your Mobile-First Video Edge™.

Your Mobile-First Video Edge™ includes, but not limited to, the following:

  • Understanding the principles behind smartphone video production

  • Gaining practical in-person experience creating video content

  • Guidance on a functional in-house team video workflow and system

  • Launching and building a company video culture

  • Greater confidence around being on camera

  • A bank of future video content ideas

  • Figuring out what platforms are right for your business

  • A clearer picture of how video can support your people, culture, customers, and whole organisation at large

  • Continued help, guidance, and encouragement from Inside Edge after we leave the building

We deliver this by physically visiting your business premises anywhere in the UK, and actually train you how to capture your company stories using only your phone whether you’re a growing startup, a regional SME, or a multi-site enterprise.

  • You may only want some 1:1 consultation and coaching

  • You may want to book us for a full team-training day

  • You may want something a bit more custom and focused just for you

What a start-up founder needs to close early deals looks completely different from what a 500+ person multi-site enterprise needs to drive market expansion. We’ve designed our core offer approach below so your team gets the exact content creation capability required for your current business phase and commercial goals.

“Special thanks to Alan from Inside Edge, who delivered a fantastic, practical workshop for some of the attendees on using mobile phones to create digital business content when they have no or little marketing budget.”

– Chris Dodd, Head of Business Development

Frequently Asked Questions

While your competitors are still planning next their video shoot and negotiating the budget, you’re already reaching into your pocket to create yours in real-time. And most importantly, YOU are telling your story, not the agency, never mind the fact that the camera technology in today’s smartphones means you can capture high quality, high volumes of in-the-moment video which delivers the authentic and right sized video your audience’s social media demand.

There will always be some similarities and crossover depending on your business, but generally speaking…

For B2C brands: Think Instagram and TikTok — skits/humour, trending content, new product reveals, behind-the-scenes/how-it’s-made clips, customer unboxings and real-time reviews (what they call User-Generated Content), etc.

For B2B SMEs: Think LinkedIn, YouTube, company website — Founder stories, leadership messaging, customer testimonials/case-studies, educational/informative content, product or services walkthroughs, meet-the-team/day-in-the-life videos, etc.

Everyone we work with always has legitimate concerns about the word “quality” when they want to start creating their own videos. Actually, it’s the reason most people keep putting it off. Please know this makes you completely normal. At Inside Edge, we take immense pride in working with our clients to give them all sorts of super simple tips & tricks both in front of the camera, and all behind-the-camera technical stuff too (shooting, lighting, sound, everything). But most importantly, there is nobody else out there who actually helps beginner content creators in-person — giving them the encouragement, confidence, and inspiration to publish their first video to the world.

We do.

Online training can work very well for many different types of topics. However, research has shown that training content that involves any level of workshop time is best addressed with face-to-face sessions. According to L&D benchmark data from Gartner, structured in-person workshops maintain a 95%+ completion and active participation rate, whereas corporate self-paced online courses suffer from an 80% to 90% drop-off rate. In summary, we are not against offering online training, but it has to be a topic and situation where we feel online is the most suitable delivery.

It all kicks off with a highly-interactive and entertaining presentation. We cover topics such as:

  • Mobile-First Video: What it is and why it matters to your business
  • Storytelling fundamentals
  • Smartphone filming essentials
  • Formats, platforms and distribution
  • Real-world examples, live demonstrations, and so much more

Then we have a roundtable, collaborative discussion to identify what kinds of mobile content you would like to start shooting.

Then we break for lunch.

Upon our return, we then move into the hands-on workshop. This is where the theory becomes real. Inside Edge will supervise and support your team as they begin practicing, shooting, performing in, and creating their own content. Depending on the group, your team can:

  • Work together to shoot a video
  • Break into smaller groups
  • Shoot different pieces of content
  • Experiment with interviews, testimonials and short-form content
  • Review the footage together
  • Identify what worked and what didn’t
  • Reshoot and improve
  • Discuss how the content could be used

It’s all about how you feel this time will best be used. Again, every client is different.

The day lasts approx 10am-4pm.

As you will see above, our offerings have been designed to align with businesses from Start-ups to Multi-site Enterprises. For simplicity, we kept our top-level offerings to 3. In many cases, you will be able identify which is the best fit for you. However, we fully appreciate that there will be cases where it is not 100% obvious where your company may fit, and that is perfectly normal. Get in touch to talk with us and we can figure out what Mobile-First Video approach is right for you.
Simply put — no, we don’t. And deliberately so. Traditional agencies are still set up to deliver professionally-produced hero style videos which bring with them long lead times, and high production costs. These features do not align with our mission covered in FAQ 1.  We train your team to develop the skills, the workflows, the creativity and confidence to produce high-volume, authentic video in-house all their own. For some of our clients, we have shot select videos for them where they would prefer that we handled it, but as we do it we are explaining, coaching and demonstrating the process in real-time. Everything we do, is all about YOU.
Training doesn’t end when we leave the building. We are capable of offering a number of services such as technical support calls, editing services, on-going video creation ideas, and further focused training sessions. We don’t upsell additional line item services to you at Inside Edge, we’re here to simply listen and help you in whatever capacity you need. Happy to discuss this anytime.

We get asked this question a lot. Our view is that the area where AI can bring most value is editing assistance with your videos. It can really improve your productivity and there are many tools out there, some free for you to use. We are more than happy to share our thoughts on this area. However, in order to truly maximise your Mobile-First Video power, it has to be viewed as authentic and natural. The only way to do that is to have a human shoot the video on their smartphone.
